One can apparently see the fast changing of our past practices as present practices are gradually covering up all the great value of our forefather’s traditions, customs and cultures. To be specific, comparatively, so many olden days practices are fading away by adopting and adapting to the modern practicing in all these rounds. Since two-three decades gone, the various Naga community`s practices are being following within one`s provinces, jurisdictions, areas, ranges or villages. The concrete well-shaped system of our fore one is found to be appropriate and appraisable. Prior to the Indian politics introduction to the state, it is true that every community is governed and run by its customary systems whilst, right after we set our foot to the said present tracks and trends, everything has been totally changes and politicized in all round corners. Though we the Nagas are been provisioned with Art.371A with clauses, we deviate ourselves to the outside of the given purview provisions. Now it is a known fact that every community wants to adopt the political finishing-touch in all our villages, which according to me is quite inferior or incomplete than our olden practices. Perhaps, politics is not to be taken as the bad one but on the other side of the coin the inscribed number and picture is different. So taking the involvement of political system in all fields is not to be considered as well.
Our village`s Chiefs or Leaders are being selected or elected according to the general views despite one`s reluctances. They really give their best to sacrifice for the causes of their villages, clans and communities without any oppositions. No one goes beyond the parameter of one`s customary resolutions. No one is been found or heard as greedy mouth or selfish monkey in their profiles like the present leaders. No one is been ex-communicated or make exiled for one`s fishy tricks in their performance as and when discharging their duties. No one is heard of been pessimistic, opaque, nepotic or passive in their way fare of running their own community like present. No one knows or uses the master-planned or pre-planned methods of siphoning the villages valuable treasures like present. No one oppose or against the true leader`s decisions for one`s conveniences or selfishness Instead, everyone raises as one vocal-cord, one stand, one family and one body. They always stand strong as the story of a bundle of sticks against the single stick which is easy to be broken. Whereas of now, many leaders wants to be a single stick to split from its bundle, so that he/she can siphon or pile-up the aids, funds and schemes for oneself secretly .It is open-secret that many present leaders are in fighting tooth and nail for one`s benefits. The chairmen, secretaries, VDBs, GBs etc. were contesting with many inside propagandas. Politically they were the real propagandist for the village welfare to use their iron hands upon the villagers. What is very funny is that a small village having around 20-30 households are selecting their village council chairman with NPF, Cong, BJP etc. candidatures for contesting. It is funnier that the Area MLA/Ministers are having its involvement in it. They politically want the said village to totally adopt their colour party to be won. A hand-touch of this prestigious party leaders are terrorising the small village to be politicised one. Unfortunately, the elected village`s parties with its cabinet member of Secretary and its parliament secretaries like four of the GBs etc. discharge their functions in the capital town for the whole month by booking star-like hotels, taking festive curry like chickens, pork and fishes with expensive coffees and drinks. They were like none other than 1st Gazetted, dressing in good satire to impress their camouflage boss. They ply to and fro with expensive taxis. Alas! After their term and turn has completed, they carries hoe and daos to their daily routine fields for survival with the blame-name as corrupted leaders, till one meet its grave. This is how we the Nagas are following and practicing our villages responsible duties as a community. This unpleasant sound of politics interferences has bad effects for what its involvements .Even the village student unions also follows the same dirty `divide and rule` policy tracts and tracks. The more opponent of the candidatures arise, the more unfair scenes occurs in the village, clan, family Some jokes come to my recollections that, Nagas are expert in politics that our politicians are laughing with politics ,eating with politics, walking with politics and sleeping with politics and even driving politically. This propagation joke is somehow true that even the church are more or less involves with politics too. The pastors, deacons and church leaders all are well versed with politics that they were none other than the best campaigners, vote buyers, convincers etc As such in the functionaries of the church, the believers, the utensils ,the plastic chairs and the windows curtains etc. are all seems as political visualizes images. The preaching, singings and the prayers all are systematically politicized. The testimonies and the messages are been spoken in political dialects and languages for which the impacts members after services stretches their hands for congratulations. The free willing offering also done politically. The Family prayer or visiting is performing according to the political procedures. Christmas-festival is almost done politically. I really do hope and pray that God should show mercy upon we the Nagas to issue salvation tickets to the Gate of Heaven, that also through the politicized hands or set-up a new political Hell for those who are really plays the dirtiest politics from its real true and fair means perspectives to immobilizing the fairest practices of our forefathers. Let the good practices prevail once again.
