‘Patriotism stems from truth not deceit’

Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): In  the backdrop of allegations, the GPRN/NSCN today refuted any accusations leveled against it  and demanded the names of its cadres who allegedly assisted the Assam Rifles in the operation at Namsa in Mon that left a cadre of the NSCN/GPRN dead. Any evidence to this issue, an MIP note stated today, must be handed over to the Joint working group (JWG) of three  political groups who are signatory to the Covenant of Reconciliation.

Appended by MIP ‘kilonser’ Meren Nokpu, the note  took  strong  cognizance  of NSCN/GPRN ‘kilonser’ V  Horam’s charge earlier, as “in a nutshell, a shallow display of bravado at a very wrong moment.” He  stated that “blaming heaven and earth for failure of one’s own wicked policy is never rewarding. Patriotism stems from truth and not through deceits.”

“The killing of major Ngachonmi of IM by Assam Rifles at Namsa in Konyak region and the press release of Hebron campers in its aftermath is in a nutshell, a shallow display of bravado at a very wrong moment. The unfortunate incident and Horam’s allegation is more a reflection of the failure of IM policy than anything else,” the note said. Instead of paying last respects to the slain cadre at the funeral service, V Horam “wronged even the dead officer by blindly accusing GPRN/NSCN of involving in the killing,” the  note  explained.

“To claim that 5/6 IM boys can easily take on 30/40 Indian soldiers in conventional warfare is suggestive of how cheap human life is regarded by those at the top at Hebron camp. Alas Ngachonmi and those captured are mere fodder for Indian Army in the eyes of V Horam and others,” the note said.  Horam is asked to “furnish the names of Naga army personnel who allegedly assisted Assam Rifles  in  the  operation. Any  iota  of  evidence available must be handed over to the Joint working group (JWG) of  three  political groups who are signatory to the Covenant of Reconciliation at the earliest. It should also be clarified to the Nagas whether accusing GPRN/NSCN  was V  Horam’s  idea  or  the  propaganda policy of Hebron camp.” The MIP note added that Horam shall be held solely  accountable  for “any fallout arising out of his  baseless  accusation.”
