GMS Longya Ward appeals for intervention

Kiphire, April 22 (MExN): Students and teachers of Government Middle School (GMS) Longya Ward Kiphire undertook a ‘social work’ on April 17 to construct a footpath leading to their school.

According to a press release received here on Thursday, GMS Longya ward Kiphire was established in 2011. However, there is no road or pathway to the school as it is located in the secluded area of Kiphire town.

As per Head Teacher of the school, owing to non-availability of basic footpath, the students and teachers struggle to go to school particularly during rainy days. There have also been incidents of students and teachers falling down on the way to school during rain, the release added.

Despite being located in the town headquarter; the absence of a proper pathway to the school is a hurdle to the enthusiastic teachers and students, it stated.

Burglaries have also taken plae in the school on several occasions, and many properties have been lost, it informed.
In this regard, the students and teaching faculty further appealed the concerned authority to consider the grievances of the school.
