Meluri, August 16 (MExN): The Women Department of the Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), under the leadership of Women Secretary P Angbhenla Phom, conducted a three-day leadership training at the PBCC Mission Centre, Yisisotha, Meluri district, from August 11 to 13.
A total of 113 delegates from the PBCC Women Department and Christian Education Department attended the training.
The programme focused on equipping participants to take up leadership roles and responsibilities with informed skills, approaches and practical knowledge.
Sessions covered leadership commitment and attributes, structural designation and complementing, professionalism in ministry and the workplace, and social and pulpit etiquette.
Participants also underwent hands-on mock sessions on conducting funerals and providing professional counselling to grieving families and distressed individuals with different personal experiences.
An inductive Bible study method class was also conducted as part of the training.
Children's pastors attended craft sessions where they were taught to use available resources creatively. Sessions also covered methods of teaching children and addressing the issue of violence against children.
Emphasising the importance of physical well-being among leaders, the programme included basic health sessions and workout sessions in the form of Zumba.
Resource persons from the PBCA included P Angbhen Phom, Rev Mongvai and Chulei Phom.
The organisers said the training was aimed at strengthening leadership skills and preparing church leaders to undertake their responsibilities with greater competence, professionalism and sensitivity.
