PDMGDVA agrees to suspend agitation

Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The Phek District Maytas-Gayatri Victim Association (PDMGDVA) has agreed to suspend its ongoing ‘No Reply, No Work’ agitation with immediate effect.

An emergency consultative meeting was held at the Phek DC’s office on October 8 with the PDMGDVA and Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) under the chairmanship of Razouvolie Dozo, Deputy Commissioner, Phek.

The DC apprised the members of the seriousness with which the State Government has taken initiatives to address the grievances of the Association. He conveyed the appeal made by the Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Neiba Kronu to the PDMGDVA to suspend the ‘No Reply, No Work’ agitation in the interest of the public considering the immense inconvenience it would cause, besides hampering the developmental activities in the district. The Minister also reportedly conveyed the assurance that the Association’s grievances will be taken up on priority at the earliest, along with the other affected districts all.

As a petitioner in the case, the CPO also appealed the PDMGDVA to suspend the agitation while assuring its full support to the Association.

Basing on the appeal of Minister Kronu, in the presence of the CPO, the PDMGDVA agreed to suspend its agitation with immediate effect.
