‘Peaceful’ re-polls in 2 Kiphire polling stations

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): No incidents of violence were reported as re-polls were conducted in two polling stations in the 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency on Saturday, officials said.

According to a PTI report, Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Abhijit Sinha said that peaceful polling was held in 8-Kipongya Ward 'A' in Kiphire town and 11-Singrep village polling stations.

The re-polling which began at since 6:00 am continued till 4:00 pm.

The Additional CEO said that the polling percentage on Saturday was 74.71 percent in Kipongya Ward polling station 8 while the Singrep village polling station 11 recorded 69.48 percent. 

Kipongya Ward 'A' has 779 electorates while 11-Singrep has 947.

Counting of votes will take place on November 10.
