Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) pensioners can now register for the Jeevan Praman Patra (JPP) at the nearest Common Service Centres (CSC) or bank branches.
The measure has been taken up across the country, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic with the direction of the Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, in order to avoid queues of pensioners around the EPFO Offices for registration, a press release informed.
As such, EPFO pensioners are advised to visit their nearest CSCs or bank branches to register their JPP round the year, it added.
It also informed that in respect of pensioners, JPP registration, which is valid for one year, can be done round the year and those have registered after January 2020 need not re-register till one year is over.
It said that more than 3 lakh CSCs across the country are authorised to do JPP registration and are closer to pensioners’ homes. Bank branches should also do the work of JPP registration as done earlier, it added.
Pensioners who have been issued PPOs in this year i.e. 2020 need not register their JPP, it informed.
