Peren, May 19 (MExN): The Peren District Medical team led by Dr Imnuk, Epidemiologist, IDSP Peren has been carrying out random sampling tests in order to ascertain the prevalence of COVID-19 in the district, the District Media Officer, CMO Office informed on Wednesday.
In a press release, the DMO informed that out of the 173 samples collected, 4 were positive and the rest 169 were negative. The cumulative result of the sample collected were from the category of taxi drivers, auto drivers, shopkeepers, daily market dwellers, petrol pump staff ,BSNL staff and garage workers starting from April 19 to May 3 in Peren town.
The release also stated that the first phase of COVID vaccination drive for 18-44 age group in Peren district began on May 17 and as of May 18, a total of 410 beneficiaries were vaccinated. Vaccination for this age group was done only at block heads i.e., at District Hospital Peren, CHC Jalukie, Tening CHC and PHC Athibung. It also informed that for vaccination for those in the 45 years and above age group is available in all the Health units including the sub centers.
