Peren: Farmers urged to adopt improved method of farming

Peren, October 15 (MExN): ATMA Peren district in collaboration with KVK Peren held farmer scientist interaction and farmers awards distribution at Jalukie Women Welfare Conference Hall on October 13.

During the programme, special guest, Sanuzo Neinu, DAO & PD, ATMA encouraged the farmers to emphasize on maximizing productivity through improved method of farming. He asked them to be sincere and dedicated in farming. Later, the special guest handed over awards to four farmers and four groups from four blocks with cash and citation. The awardees shared their success stories. 

During the technical session, resource person James Kikon from KVK Peren and Rokozhalie Namdau from ATMA delivered on integrated farming and multi layer cropping respectively. It was followed by an interaction where farmers raised various queries on agricultural issues.

The programme was chaired by Akam Zeliang, Dy PD and concluded with vote of thanks by Sajapong ATM Jalukie block. After the programme, KVK Peren and ATMA Peren team along with the special guest held a joint field visit to progressive poultry farm school and integrated farm school at Samziuram and Jalukie town. 

Earlier, district level training on improved method of winter vegetable farming and value addition on pineapple was conducted at New Jalukie village, Nkwareu village, Mhainamtsi village and Dungki village from September 14 to 17.
