PEREN, MARCH 15 (MExN): Two persons, who were allegedly held captive by the GPRN/NSCN on charges of timber theft on March 2, have been released. According to press release from the Peren police, it “secured the safe release” of the two persons— Wongkiyan and Peicsisap, “with the active support of all stakeholders.”
One other person, who was also held captive alongwith the two, was released on March 9.
The release said that the two persons were handed over to their respective families after medical checkup and observing required legal formalities. “Further enquiry into the matter will continue under the supervision of IGP Range PHQ,” it added.
