Petrol now Rs 99 a litre in Tuensang; crosses Rs 98 in 8 districts of Nagaland

Petrol was selling at Rs 99.01 per litre in Tuensang and it was selling at Rs 98-a-litre in 8 districts on June 20 with the continued record surge in fuel prices. 

The oil marketing companies (OMCs) revised the prices of both petrol and diesel by 0.28 paise on Sunday across the State. 

Consequently, in 7 other districts – Kiphire, Noklak, Mon, Phek, and Zunheboto (Satakha), Longleng and Mokokchung, petrol was retailing above Rs 98 per litre on June 20. 

Meanwhile, the cost of a litre of diesel was Rs 92.85 in Tuensang after Sunday’s hike even as it crossed Rs 90-a-litre mark in all districts of Nagaland.

The price of Xtra Premium petrol, wherever available, was above Rs 100 a litre except in Dimapur where it was nearing the mark on Sunday at Rs 99.45, informed the IndianOil ONE app, the official app of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd on fuel related matters.

Fuel in Nagaland is costliest in Tuensang and cheapest in commercial capital Dimapur.

On Sunday, a litre of petrol and diesel were retailing at Rs 95.89 and Rs 90.09 respectively after Friday’s hike.

 According to database maintained by The Morung Express based on the IOC’s app, fuel prices have been hiked 11 times this month till June 20, while it remained unchanged for 9 days.
