Attendees of the Jal Jeevan Mission’s (JJM) 100 days campaign in Niuland on November 16.
Wokha, November 18 (MExN): The Public Health Engineering Department, (Rural) Division, Dimapur held more IECs on the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission's (JJM) 100 days campaign to provide piped water supply to schools and Anganwadi Centres.
The campaigns were held in Niuland and Aghunaqa blocks respectively on November 16 and 17.
In Niuland, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) team from the division led by Er Narisen Y Jami, SDO, PHE-Niuland conducted the campaign attended by Anganwadi workers, teachers and WATSAN members from the villages under respective blocks.
During the event, Jami explained the objectives of the 100 days campaign and noted that safe water to children is a top priority.
Resource persons from the team including Sanitation & Hygiene Consultant, DWSM, PHED(Rural), Dimapur, Imojungla Longkumer who elaborated on water borne diseases, safe water for children and water quality standards.
Chemist, DWSM, PHED(R) Dimapur, Tzutipokla Longkumer also stressed on importance of conserving and recharging ground water and protecting water sources from contamination, informed a press release from the division.
