The District Administration & DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP) Phek conducted an Awareness Campaign on Menstrual Health & Hygiene Cum Women Centric Schemes at Satheri village in Phek district on April 26.
This programme aim to enhance the knowledge of hygienic practices and precautionary measures to avoid health hazard diseases relating to women and to disseminate information relating to central government schemes and programme on women and adolescent girls.
The programme also aim to mobilize communities and society to bring about the necessary changes in attitudes, behaviors and beliefs about gender equality.
The centric schemes include DLCW Mahila Shakti Kendra, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women helpline 181, Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), widow pension, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojona (PMMVY).
The programme was also marked by distribution of sanitary pads to women, adolescent girls and baby gift hampers to the new born child.
