PHEK, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): The Phek District Music and Arts Society was officially launched by Rev Dr Kowepe Kanuo, Director, Chakhesang Mission Society on November 25 at Pfutsero.
In a short ceremony with the PDMAS team, Rev Dr Kowepe Kanuo said that music has no boundary or language and it does not drive people away but it pulls people together. He also encouraged the music fraternity that the time has come to pursue music and arts as a profession rather than just a performance in an event. He made special emphasis on the importance of music in mission fields.
Earlier in the program, Khrowutso Letro, President Phek District Music and Arts Society, highlighted the reason for the formation of the society. He said that PDMAS will promote music and arts in the District. The society will work in collaboration with the Government entities, Churches and other societies to facilitate proper co-ordination in creating a platform for everyone to display talents and skills.
The PDMAS has meanwhile informed that it will be organizing its first event in collaboration with Nagaland Choral Director Association in the early part of 2022 on choral conducting in Phek District.
PDMAS is led by President Khrowutso Letro, Artist and Repertoire Director Khriesanyoyi Dozo and Secretary Wepu Puro.
