Health workers with the pledge during the observance of World Patient Safety Day held in Phek district under the theme ‘Health worker safety: A priority for patient Safety’ on September 17.
Phek, September 17 (MExN): Phek district has observed World Patient Safety Day under the theme ‘Health worker safety: A priority for patient Safety’ on September 17.
The objectives of World Patient Safety Day are to increase public awareness and engagement, enhance global understanding and spur global solidarity and action to promote patient safety.
At district headquarter it was observed at District Hospital conference hall, Phek with Dr Limanukshi Junior specialist DH Phek as the resource person. He highlighted on the importance of correct identification of patients, effective communication with the patient, safety of high- alert medications, ensuring correct site, correct procedure and correct patient surgery etc.
He also talked on the challenges faced by healthcare workers, stress which have increased manifold due to overtime work, increased of infection rate, violence, illness and death etc.
During the program pledge taking on ‘Primum non nocre-First do not harm’ was also carried out by health workers.
A press release from Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer, NHM Phek stated that the programme was observed in all the health units under Phek District. Dr Wethselo, Sr Paedetrician also emphasised on the safety measures of Covid-19 pandemic.
