Phek, October 31 (MExN): The district administration and District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao), Phek observed “Breast Cancer Awareness month” on the theme ‘Give hope, save lives’ in the month of October.
The campaign conveyed abundant message to the people about the importance of early treatment and diagnosis of breast cancer to control the progression. According to WHO, breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women worldwide, both in developed and developing countries. Lack of knowledge and information about the early signs and symptoms makes the condition life-threatening.
The awareness campaign was celebrated by wearing Pink batch by all staff and officers from district administration in support and to show every woman that her life is important.
