The Life Project has successfully organised “Plastic pick-up competition” at Yoruba village under Chozuba sub-division of Phek district. This was an initiative for plastic free environment. It was held on October 17 last.

Life Project was formed in 2016 with a zeal to provide, promote and encourage the younger generation in the field of music, sports etc. and also to render service for the greater interest and transformation of the society.

Life Project manager Vesüto Khüsoh told The Morung Express that this competition evoked a thunderous response from the various quarters.

Encouraged by the success of this event, Life Project has announced that it will now become a regular feature. It will be conducted once in a month. A good number of children from age group 7-14 years joined the event and collected around 400 kgs of plastics waste.

Khüsoh informed that maximum plastic waste collected has been burnt down while some keep for recycling purpose.
