Kohima, February 23 (MExN): The District Administration & District Level Centre for Women - Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek observed literary day under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Government High School Razeba Town under Phek district on February 23.
Poetry writing competition under the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao marked the event. The competition aims to help young people expand their imagination also which will help them realise their potential in writing poetry.
Speaking on the occasion, N Bhavani Sri, SDO (C), Phek & Nodal Officer BBBP, Phek encouraged students to support women in trouble and never tolerate discrimination faced by girl classmates. She encouraged the students to reflect within and analyse if there is any ways that they are not standing for gender equality and go for self correction. Further, the Nodal officer expressed that gender equality should be reflected not only in opportunities but also in taking up responsibilities.
Earlier, Vileno Kapu, Women Welfare officer DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra chaired the programme while welcome address was delivered by Neingutsü Sami, Graduate Teacher, GHS, Razeba. Vote of thanks was proposed by Kelengunuo Soho, EAC Razeba town. The programme was followed by recreational games.
