Kiphire, January 31 (MExN): Pokhpur village in Kiphire district celebrated the Morung festival on January 30 which was attended by Kiphire Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North).
Morung Festival is a traditional annual event organised by the people of Tikhir community to mark the start of farming for the coming year and seeking divine blessings.
According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), the event was attended by GBs, village council members and the entire Tikhir community in the area.
