Dimapur March 14 (MExN): The state police officials who were accused of threatening and verbally abusing wives/family members of the 9th IRB personnel deployed at Chhattisgarh have refuted that any behavior of such sort was ever shown to the said group, during a meeting held March 9.
In a rejoinder, C Kikon, IPS ADGP (Admn.) maintained that the wives of the 9th IRB personnel submitted a representation to the government asking for withdrawal of their husbands from Chhattisgarh state. “On the representation the police department (has) to hear the wives of 9 IR personnel and tell them to understand that police is a uniformed service; the employees have to live in a particular way and giving direct representation to the government without going to the department and asking for withdrawal of the personnel from Chhattisgarh would not be correct. It also meant to make them further understand that in every walk of life the proper channels are available and one (has) to go through these channels” stated the rejoinder.
While informing that C Kikon, IPS ADGP along with officers namely MV Chakhesang, IPS IGP (INT), Nzanbemo Lotha IPS, DIG (NAP) Kohima and Reverend Vezopa, Secretary NPBCA met the wives on March 9, the rejoinder denied that any abusive words were used.
“It is clarified to all concerned that the team members headed by ADGP had never used a single word of abusive language (and) they have never threatened the wives. None of the members had used the word ‘prostitute’ and ‘liquor house-molls; illiterate and prostitutes; the word “Sukha discharge” is never said by any of the members” the rejoinder maintained.
