Kohima, February 1 (MExN): The National Immunization Day (NID) 2021 was successfully held across the state along with the rest of the country on January 31. In the state, 1,22,495 children between 0-5 years were vaccinated on the first day with a coverage of 80.8% at various Polio booths in the districts, according to Dr Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer (SIO), Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland. The NID under the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization aims to vaccinate all children from 0-5 years with two drops of Oral Polio Vaccine. The next two days will focus on house -to-house vaccination of left out children from the first day, Dr Thurr said.
