Preparations continue in Nagaland for Lok Sabha poll

Tuensang, April 16 (MExN): The 3rd and final phase of training for polling personnel to the Lok Sabha Election 2024 was conducted at GHSS Auditorium, Tuensang on April 16. ADC Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe gave a brief speech to the polling personnel from Tuensang and instructed them to follow producers at polling day and handle of EVM Machine. He called upon the polling officers to coordinate among themselves and report to the Control Room if any threat, interference or problem arises at the polling station.

Kohima: The SDO (C) Sadar & Nodal officer, Postal Ballot, Kohima, James T Khulu Tikhir (NCS) has in a notification informed all concerned who have opted and applied Form 12 A that the Election Duty Certificate (EDC) will be issued starting Monday (April 15) from the Postal Ballot Cell (Revenue Branch), Deputy Commissioner Office Kohima. Therefore, all concerned have been informed to collect the same before April 18.
DC and DEO Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS has issued an order in connection with the forth coming General Election to the Lok Sabha Election, 2024, stating that Administrator, KMC, T Lanusenla Longkumer has been appointed as nodal officer for polling personnel welfare measures. She can be contacted at 8974624861. It further stated that the Officer in charge wi;; ensure and look afater the welfare measures for all Polling Teams. All issues and aspects of the assigned task shall be carried out and completed in time with proper co-ordination.

Zunheboto: Office of the DC and DEO, Zunheboto has informed that the movement permit for poll day i.e. April 19 for private vehicles can be obtained from the following staffs: Avika Chishi– 8731926878, confidential branch DC office; Nihoshe Sukhai– 9366293702, Room No.-5, Transport cell, DC Office Zunheboto.

Peren: The 3rd and final round of training for polling personnel was held at Multi Utility Stadium, All Saint's School Campus, Peren town on April 16. In the training, important procedures which are to be followed at the booth on the poll day were explained to the trainees by the Master Trainers. Additionally, the trainees also received hands-on training on EVMs and VVPATs. The training session also saw the presence of DC & DEO Peren, ADC & ARO Tening and AEO Peren.

Phek: Phek DC and DEO informed all the political parties under Phek district that the dispersal of EVM/VVPAT for the conduct 1- Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency 2024 for P-2 (one day ahead) and P-1 will commence from April 17 till April 18, at 8:00 am onward at Deputy Commissioner's Office Phek Headquarter. In this connection, all the political parties have been informed to be present or send their representative to witness the entire process.

Kiphire: Coordination meeting with security, Sector Magistrate and the district administration was held with Kiphire RO and Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer, NCS in the conference hall, DC office on April 16. Addressing the gathering, the DC Kiphire appealed the Sector Magistrate and security officer to discharge their duty sincerely. He also appealed to ensure peaceful environment in the polls. Traffic regulations and travel plan were also discussed
