Preparedness of MR campaign to be assisted

Kohima, September 6 (MExN): State Task Force of Measles Rubella Vaccination held a meeting on September 6 with the Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Himato Zhimomi as the chairman. It was stated in a DIPR report that, the meeting discussed the progress of the activities till date for the campaign.  

Deliberations were held regarding documentation of all activities which is to be kept ready at the state, district and block level for assessment review. The assessment period is from September 10 to 15. The assessment team would be reviewing and decide whether Nagaland is prepared to conduct the campaign from October 3 or defer it.  

The Commissioner & Secretary expressed concern for the campaign of MRVC in the state. He said proper data should be there before the assessment campaign and also accuracy of target population must be projected well in the overall process of the campaign. He appreciated the State Task Force particularly the Health & Family Welfare department for working hard for the campaign.  

Health & Family Welfare department gave a power point presentation on preparedness Assessment of the campaign including supervision plans, assigning district and blocks monitors with detailed supervisions plans, IEC & Communication-Sensitisation of schools and parents and private practitioners, funding, Education department’s involvement in the microplaning process, and similar checklist which are to be used at randomly selected planning units.  

A state level workshop on media and religious leaders for debriefing will be held on September 15 under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary and participation of Education, ICDS and IPR department. The MRVC would be launched officially on October 3. Representative of Lion’s club of Dimapur also attended the meeting.
