Zunheboto, September 29 (MExN): The PHED Zunheboto division in collaboration with Hikali Achumi, Silver Queens Miss Sumi 2022 and Green Club Zunheboto organised a visual cleanliness programme on September 29 under Swachatta Hi Seva campaign.
Miss Sumi launched their project ‘The Silver Vision’ with the theme ‘The Silver Vision for a greener progression,’ stated a press release received here.
While speaking at the programme, Hikali Achumi said, “After a healthy deliberation and a number of meetings, we have summed up our concerns to work for our society through incorporating the positive impact of changes brought about by humans on the environment. We envision a healthier environment for a prosperous tomorrow.”
Among others one of the objectives of ‘The Silver Vision’ includes reviving the element of beauty in our Sumi Land by incorporating eco friendly means of living in our day to day life like upcycling used goods.
Akai Sumi, Sanitation and Hygiene Consultant, PHED Zunheboto while highlighting the Swachata Hi Seva said that it was towards managing the legacy waste at garbage vulnerable sites in the village.
He added that under the campaign it focuses visual cleanliness in village, cleaning of garbage vulnerable sites in the village, community awareness for segregation of waste, Keeping the areas near Water bodies clean and doing tree plantation around them, Generate awareness about the ill effect of single use plastic and Slogan writing/pledge taking for ‘no littering.’
Earlier the programme was chaired by Avino Jimo, invocation by Itokato Chopho, Associate Pastor Sector SBCZ, launching of the programme by Dr Kalito Kiho and vote of thanks delivered by Beto T Jimo SDO PHED, Zunheboto.
