PSC to empower women’s role

Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): The Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) on March 8 commemorated 100 years celebration of International Women’s Day at Lempong Convention Hall, Longleng.
A press note issued by the PSC stated that Kuplong, Women Pastor, Dimapur Phom Baptist Church said women is a special creature endowed with great potential and responsibility, but women herself suppressed by inferior feelings and traditional influence. They are also not given the ground where they can recognised and use their potential and talents. Hence, from now on women should be given equal consideration.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day the PSC with Phomla Hoichem solemnly resolve and re-affirmed that women’s active participation in VDB should be strictly implemented in all the villages under Phom area to bridge the gap of gender equally in decision making for all round development.   
Nyathei Pangnyu, wife of Pangnyu Phom, Parliamentary Secretary RD & REPA graced the occasion as chief guest and Sonia Singh IPS, SP Longleng as guest of honour in the first session. Er. Akheto Sema, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Longleng was chief guest and Shamthai, President, Phomla Hoichem was guest of honour in the Second Session.
