DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): Against the backdrop of the 4-point resolution adopted by Sangtam organizations in Kiphire on the expiry of their ultimatum submitted to the government, an emergency meeting of all Pungro-based Yimchungrü frontal organizations was held on February 16, 2016 at Pungro Town.
Informing this, a press statement issued by Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division said the house deliberated at length pertaining to February 6 killing and the aftermath violence in Kiphire Town.
It stated that the exemptions of movements on the “so-called sub-tribes…of Yimchungrü tribe and the imposition of restriction on Yimchungrü is beyond our comprehension.”
The forum pointed out that the Yimchungrü Naga tribe is a conglomeration of people speaking 6 different dialects.
The forum also urged the Inquiry Committee to expedite the investigation process to identify the perpetrators of the February 6 killing.
