Put recruitment of Assistant Professors on hold: ANGCTA to NPSC

Kohima, March 20 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government College Teachers’ Association (ANGCTA) wrote to the Secretary of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) requesting the Commission to put a hold on the recruitment of Assistant Professors under Higher Education.

The posts of Assistant Professors were advertised under the Common Educational Services Examination by the NPSC on November 13, 2019 and addendum/corrigendum on January 21, 2021.

The Association stated in its letter that due to high discrepancies in the present Nagaland Higher Education Service Rule 2015, a review Committee was constituted by the Government of Nagaland to look into the same.

“The Committee has submitted its report incorporating the shortfalls, amendment/changes in the criteria of recruitment policy of Assistant Professor including that of the UGC Regulation June 2018. The approval of the authority is expected anytime from now,” it added.

Therefore, with the approval of the Nagaland Higher Education Service Rule pending, ANGCTA requested the NPSC to put the recruitment of Assistant Professors under Higher Education on hold.

“This representation does in no way disturb the other recruitment of posts which can be proceeded as scheduled by NPSC other than the ‘Assistant Professors post’,” it added.
