PVSU 58th annual session culminates

Wokha, January 2 (MExN): The 58th Pongidong Village Students union (PVSU) under the theme ‘Catalyst of Change’ concluded on December 30, 2015 at Community hall Pongidong, with Er. S. Zanathung Ezung Junior Engineer, Power Department Wokha as the chief guest, Thungchibemo T Humtsoe, Headmaster Mount Sinai School Wokha as the theme speaker Lily Humtsoe, Assistant Prof. Department of Political Science, St. Joseph college Jakhama as the resource person.  

The chief guest encouraged the students to keep distance from drunkenness, gambling, drugs addict, and so on which ruined the career of not only the students but life. He urged the students to make best use of the time when parents can support them financially.  

The theme speaker who spokes on the topic ‘Catalyst of Change’, pin pointed that, to be an agent of change, one should maintain strict punctuality, live by principle, forgive other before other apologised, give credit to other instead of claiming for yourself, contribute but to not expect from others, selfless sacrifice, change for better, change for progress, do good if not sponsored to do good.  

A minute silent prayer was observed paying reverence to the First Graduate from Pongidong (1968) Lt. Abemo Ovung who breath his last on December 28 at Kolkata. Greetings from Roland Humtsoe President WTPYF, Elvis Humtsoe SMC Chairman Pongidong, PVSU report from General secretary and Finance secretary, special number from PVSU officials, welcome address by the president, Zacheo Ezung from Hyderabad also presented a special song, vote of thanks from vice president, while invocation and benediction was delivered by Rev. Rapvuo Odyuo pastor PBC and Rev. Elhio Tsopoe, pastor CRC Pongidong. The programme was chaired by Janbeni Humtsoe PVSU Assistant General Secretary.  

PVSU General Secretary Benathung Tsopoe in a press release stated that on day one, after unfurling the PVSU flag by the President, the resource person enlightened the students with the opportunity waiting for the hardworking students. After which games and sports was kick-on. In the evening a literary session was held.
