DIMAPUR, MARCH 14 (MExN): Peraciezie Youth Organisation (PYO) and the Tihkir Students’ Union (TSU) have condemned the alleged assault of a minor in Kohima which made the news recently.
A press release from the PYO demanded that the accused be booked under relevant sections of the law. “They should not be released under any circumstances. The law should take its course of action and justice should be delivered without interference from any angle,” it said.
The PYO meanwhile informed that the accused couple “has been ousted from Peraciezie colony with immediate effect and they will be treated in the same way as they treated the minor child if they are ever seen in the colony again.”
It meanwhile prayed for the speedy recovery of the child and lauded the alert neighbours “without whose intervention the child could have succumbed.” It further asked house owners to “properly verify the credentials of the tenants and be vigilant, failing which the house owners will also be held equally responsible for crimes and anti-social activities perpetrated by tenants.” The PYO further reiterated its prohibition on liquor trade under Peraciezie Colony jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Tikhir Students' Union, Kohima also condemned the incident and stated that “such inhumane act meted out to a minor girl is totally unacceptable, and such action does not deserve any place in Naga society.”
It demanded that the competent authority take stringent action as per the rule of law.
