Kohima, August 10 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has issued a district-wise weather outlook for August 11 to 14, warning of thunderstorms, lightning and rain across several parts of the State.
Localized thunderstorms and lightning with light rain are likely at scattered locations on August 11, while August 12 could see light to moderate rain in parts of Dimapur and Longleng, along with thunderstorm activity in several districts.
On August 13, light to moderate rain is likely at scattered locations, with thunderstorms and lightning expected particularly in Longleng, Mon, Niuland, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Wokha. On August 14, similar conditions are forecast in Longleng, Mokokchung, Tseminyu, Wokha and Mon.
The NSDMA advised residents of low-lying, foothill and riverine areas to remain alert for possible flooding, waterlogging, flash floods and landslides. Motorists have also been advised to exercise caution on hilly and landslide-prone stretches and avoid crossing swollen streams or waterlogged roads.
