Rains likely to continue: IMD

The rainy weather will likely continue. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall over the northeastern region, including Nagaland, over the next few days. The IMD’s daily weather update, posted on March 21, stated that under the influence of cyclonic circulations observed over north and northeast Jharkhand, “fairly widespread/widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.” It will likely continue till March 26, as per the IMD. It added that the maximum temperatures are below normal by 2-4 degrees Celsius over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
