Rashtriya Poshan Maah observed at Kiphire village

Rashtriya Poshan Maah project launched by the Central Ministry of Women and Child Development to address nutritional challenges facing the country was observed at Kiphire village on September 4. It was attended by village council members, GBs, church leaders, ASHA workers and SHGs.  

Under Poshan Abhiyan, this September is being celebrated as the National Nutrition Month across the country to address the nutritional challenges. National Nutrition Month has eight key themes, namely, Antenatal Care, Optimal Breastfeeding, Complementary Feeding, Anemia, Growth Monitoring, Education; diet and right age of marriage for girls, Hygiene and Sanitation and Food fortification.  

CDPO Kiphire, ZT Tsangkhuchu stated that Poshan Maah is a visionary programme to address the nutritional challenges of the country. The programme seeks to bring convergence amongst various ministers to work in a coordinated manner so that malnutrition can be quickly and progressively reduced.  

Also speaking on behalf of Kiphire Village, Sechoba Village Council Chairman thanked the department for organizing Poshan Maah programme in Village and further assured the department of help and co-operation in future as well.
