Health officials administer patients during a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) outreach camp held at Porba village in Phek on September 30.
Phek, October 4 (MExN): The District Health Society, Phek, conducted a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) outreach camp at Porba village on September 30, providing maternal and child healthcare and other medical services to residents.
The camp was led by Dr Chitale Hiese, Chief Medical Officer, Phek, and Dr Khriekuolie Liezietsu, District Programme Officer, RMNCAH & N, along with doctors, nurses and health staff from District Hospital and Community Health Centre, Pfutsero.
The outreach camp was organised to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to mothers and children, particularly those facing challenges in accessing regular health facilities.
During the camp, 43 paediatric and 71 gynaecological cases were treated. Eleven antenatal care (ANC) cases were examined, of which two were identified as high-risk pregnancies. Seven beneficiaries availed themselves of family planning services.
Health talks on ANC, postnatal care (PNC) and family planning were also conducted.
Other services provided during the camp included dental and oral health services for 91 cases, ENT services for 43 cases, general medicine for 50 cases and physiotherapy for 45 cases.
A total of 92 eye cases were examined and free spectacles were provided. Ultrasound, laboratory tests, X-ray services and free medicines were also made available to patients.
Dr Shevo Hiese, Biochemist; Dr Pangertemsu, Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr Kedoneilhou, Paediatrics; Dr Weto Lomi, Radiology; Dr Tewekhro; Dr Medozhanuo Solo, ENT; Dr Pfukhrolo Koza, Senior Dentist; Dr Mewe-u and Dr Neikonuo, Dentists, attended the camp.
Physiotherapists, ophthalmic assistants, nurses, X-ray and laboratory technicians, counsellors, social workers and District Programme Management Unit staff also participated in the outreach programme.
