RD launches state’s first BMTT

Kohima, August 18 (MExN): The Department of Rural Development became the first Department to launch the Bio-Metric Multi Transaction Terminal (BMTT) in the state. A training on the use of its device, known as GEOAMIBA was imparted to the Officers of the Department at SIRD Conference Hall on August 18, 2010.

GEOAMIBA is a device, designed by GEODESIC a Mumbai based company and brought to Nagaland with the assistance of the Paper Dove International. BMTT will be using the device mainly to monitor the MGNREGA programme in the state. Some of the benefits of using this device are Beneficiary Enrolment, Work Capture, Demand for work, Muster Roll, Wage disbursement and Report. 

Commissioner& Secretary, V. Sakhrie said the BMTT Programme will be an effective weapon for the flagship Programme of MGNREGA. He urged the participants to avail the opportunity to learn and educate and encouraged them that award will be given to the best block in implementation of the system.

A release received here informed that officers from the districts of Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung and Kiphire were trained on its usage by resource persons from GEOSEDIC and Paper Dove International.
