President of the NSCN-K (Khango-Hokato), Lt Gen (retired) Khango Konyak addresses the National Tatar Hoho session held on February 13 and 14.
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 15 (MExN): President of the NSCN-K (Khango-Hokato), Lt Gen (retired) Khango Konyak, stressed the urgent necessity of unity to strengthen the Nagas, asserting that reconciliation is essential to overcome existing political divisions and fragmentation. A press release from the Naga Political Group’s (NPG) Ministry of Information & Publicity stated that Konyak made the comment at their National Tatar Hoho session held on February 13 and 14.
The two-day session, presided over by Speaker Visheto Yeptho, focused on the current political landscape, internal discipline, and the pursuit of Naga rights.
While stating that political differences, organisational divisions, and personal agendas have weakened the collective voice of the Naga people, Konyak called on members to resolve differences through dialogue and collective wisdom. According to him, reconciliation is more essential now than ever before.
He urged members to choose reconciliation over confrontation and asserted that the NSCN-K (Khango) is committed to defending ancestral land and political dignity with “wisdom and restraint.”
Addressing the assembly, Ato Kilonser Hokato Vusshe welcomed members from various groups who recently joined the NSCN-K (Khango-Hokato). He issued a reminder regarding the oath of allegiance, stating that the organisation would initiate disciplinary action against any member found guilty of misconduct or breach of discipline in accordance with the NSCN Constitution.
Vusshe noted that 2026 will be a challenging period for both the Government of India and Naga Political Groups as they engage in dialogue toward a political settlement. He briefed assembly on the the “competencies submitted by the NNPA, described as an addendum pending final inking as part of the common draft for a Naga political solution.” He appealed to all national workers to stand for truth and work cohesively for the benefit of future generations.
The release stated that the Tatar Hoho passed several resolutions to streamline governance. It included a mandate for all members to discharge duties strictly according to official directives and a declaration that the organisation will not assume responsibility for individuals mobilising resources for personal interests. The House affirmed that all members must adhere to the constitution without exception.
