
'Use disinfectants while flushing out septic tanks'
Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The PWD Colony Panchayat, Kohima has appealed to the residents to use disinfectants while flushing out septic tanks in the colony to control the smell of “stinking stool” and to maintain better sanitation for better health.
In a press note issued by its chairman Ketsodil Neikha and general secretary K M Odyuo, it also stated that theft of power is illegal therefore residents are requested to abide by the rules for the interest of the colony and as a whole.
SBI visits orphanage & destitute centre
Kohima, July 4 (MExN): As part of the celebration of Bank Day on July 1, the State Bank of India (SBI) Kohima branch visited Zaputou Orphanage & Destitute Centre Kohima and distributed sweets and other eatables to all the children numbering 70.
S. H. Leo, assistant general manager spoke on the occasion and expressed happiness to see the children there with their joyous mood.
In 2007, the SBI Kohima branch donated a Maruti van to this Centre as part of its bank day celebration.
Mentionably, the SBI came into existence on Ist July 1955 by succeeding Imperial Bank of India.
Summer camp turns sour at Kohima

In a suspected case of food poisoning, around 120 children were reported have suffered varied complications and admitted to the different hospitals in Kohima after attending a summer camp at Little Flower Higher Secondary School yesterday.
According to sources, the children were among a group of 201 students who attended summer camp for sub juniors, which concluded yesterday. On the last day, at least 120 of the children complained of varied ailments including high fever, dysentery, etc and had to be admitted in the different hospitals in and around Kohima town including at Naga Hospital Kohima, Bethel Hospital and Oking Hospital.
While a good number of them have been discharged, some are still under treatment; the sources said adding there has been no reports of any fatality so far.
NNC responds to Sumi region
Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The People’s council of Nagaland has expressed concern over the Regional Council of Sumi Region led by Ghosuho Tuccu for misguiding the Sumi Regional Council of NNC in particular and Nagas in general as stated in the local dailies published on July 4 in connection with the emergency meeting.
The NNC in a rejoinder issued by V. Kiso and s. Ezung of Publicity and Information, NNC stated: “Whereas, in the interest of NNC parent body there is no such meeting has been approved to unscrupulous Organization to performed the same as of now.”
It also stated that the said organization has ever attending at any level of NNC meeting and nor a members of NNC setup but the said organization are “money mongers as to satisfy their selfish end to destroy the entire fabrics of faithful organization” lead by Dr. Senka Ao, as president and V. Nagi as general secretary.
It has further appealed to national workers of Sumi Region to follow up the mandated Organization lead by Khehoto V. Zhimo, who is entrusted by the People’s Council of Nagaland as a dedicated leader for the cause of Naga Nation rather than betrayer and deserter leader like Ghosuho Tuccu. Hence, the parent body of NNC setup hereby rejected forthcoming emergency meeting convened on July 5 as stated in the local dailies in the interest and under the banner of ongoing reconciliation process.
