The Regional SARAS Fair 2021 under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission concluded on Wednesday at Kohima Local Ground. The total sale of products during eight day long fair stands Rs 11, 51, 165.
During the event, Kruovi Krotho of Chiephobozou Block under Kohima district bagged the best display award, customer Service award was conferred to Phon- Roka Self Help Group of Wokha district, Highest Sales to Heuchu Self Help Group of Peren district and Most Hygienic award to Teroto Naro Village Level organisation (VLO) of Chuchuyimlang block underMokokchung district. The winners received cash prizes of Rs 10, 000 each.
Hokhuli K Chishi, Secretary for Rural Development Nagaland graced the valedictory function as the special guest. Altogether, 22 SHGs from 11 districts joined the fair.
SARAS fair is an initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development to market rural products thereby providing an opportunity for income generation to the SHGs and rural artisans.
