Reguri & Kanjang villages receive free health care services

Phek, March 15 (MExN): With an aim to provide health care services to the underserved and hard to reach areas, the Phek District Hospital Welfare Committee led by Medical Superintendent Dr Tiala Longkumer conducted free multispecialty health camps at Reguri and Kanjang villages under Meluri block from March 13 to 14. 

According to a press release from District Media Officer Kutolu Nakro, the health camps were part of the committee’s annual activities. Medical services such as general medicine, Obs/Gynae, Orthopaedic, general surgery, ANC, Family Planning, Pediatric, ENT, Dermatology, Pathology, Radio Diagnosis, Ultrasonography, Dental procedures, laboratory services & ECG, were provided during the camps, it stated.

Altogether, 390 patients availed the free services, 102 ultrasonography were done, five lap- ligation were carried out, 20 pregnant women were given ANC services, 87 blood tests for sugar, scrub typhus, Hepatitis B & C were conducted, 47 dental procedures were done, 145 were examined under non-communicable diseases, five ECGs were checked and services for mental health were also provided, according to the release.

Besides this, 47 new beneficiaries were also registered to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) which is a national health protection scheme.

Along with 11 doctors, seven staff nurses, three pharmacists, two lab technicians, two F/As, five M/As, OT tech and staff from PMJAY and ANMs and ASHAs of both the villages participated in the health camp. The team also sensitized the villagers on COVID-19 vaccine, mental health, NCD, ill-effects of tobacco and gave informative talks on different health issues, the release stated.
