DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): The Nagaland RMSA Teachers Association (NRMSATA) 2013 today stated that it is aggrieved by the attitude of the state government and the authorities concerned for non-payment of salary for four months (April – July, 2018) to the NRMSATA 2013 teachers “for reasons best known to them.”
A press note from the association appealed to the government to release “our rightful salary.”
“Visits to the authorities and department concerned are fruitless with no positive sign and the NRMSATA 2013 teachers are always at the receiving end when it comes to the issue of salary even though we are entitled to regular payment at par with the other state employees,” the association lamented.
It stated that “a person needs to be of sound mind and health to execute his/her task effectively and efficiently. This brings us to question whether we are left lurking every month since our work is considered of lesser importance.”
Stating that “No work no pay” is a popular catchphrase used by chief guests in any function involving teaching, the association however pointed out that this has no value “when we keep doing our work without our rightful salary.” Stating that the association does not wish to tread down the path of agitation, it appealed to the government and concerned authorities to address the salary issue at the earliest so that teachers can do their work with the right mindset.
