DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho has decided to conduct a sit in dharna followed by a hunger strike as the next phase of its agitation demanding the upgradation of Tseminyu sub division to a district.
A press release from the Rengma Hoho said that this has been compelled due to the government’s indecision on the matter, despite submission of memorandums and several modes of agitation. The hoho reiterated that the sixth executive body meeting of the Rengma Hoho held on November 29 observed that Tseminyu District demand and its justifications thereof are matters in the clear knowledge and understanding of the State Government.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all the apex frontal Rengma organisations viz. Rengma Students’ Union (RSU), Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ), Rengma Mothers’ Association (RMA), Rengma Officers’ Forum (ROF), Rengma Gaon Bura Federation (RGBF), Rengma Public Organisation Kohima (RPOK), Rengma Public Organisation Dimapur (RPOD), Rengma Public Organisation, Chumukedima (RPOC), Rengma Village Council Chairmen Forum (RVCCF) and seven range organisations.
