DAPC Tuensang lauds MoRTH
Tuensang, October 28 (MExN): The Developmental Action Plan Committee (DAPC) Tuensang district extended appreciation to Union Minister Nitin Gadkariji, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and Er S C Mandal, Chief Engineer, MoRTH for keeping their words in executing the repair works on NH-155/202.
The DAPC mentioned in its statement that it had met the Union minister on August 10, 2016 and a consequent meeting with Er S C Mandal on August 9, 2019 to discuss the pertaining issue. The Committee had also submitted a memorandum on this account, it informed.
As assured to the DAPC, a ‘Special repair of NH-202 Mokokchung- Tuensang road (0.000 - 95.000kms)’ for the Fiscal Year 2020-21 has reportedly been allotted.
The Committee extended gratitude to MoRTH for the positive response.
“We are also hopeful that widening of 2-lane would soon be initiated after the completion of this allotted work,” it added.
Meanwhile, it rued the condition NH- 202 which had been “totally neglected for decades.”
Covered with potholes and with no proper drainage, it is no more a safe road, the Committee stated.
It urged the PWD (National Highways), Government of Nagaland and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Cooperation Limited (NHIDCL) to kick-start the work latest by first week of December after completing necessary formalities within the month of November.
