Repolls held in 4 polling stations

Repolling was held in four polling stations in Nagaland on Wednesday. Over 72.29 % of the 3,248 voters cast their votes, according to Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer V Shashank Shekhar

On the basis of reports submitted by general observers and after taking all material circumstances into account, the ECI had declared the voting held on February 27 at the four polling stations—New Colony polling station in Zunheboto constituency, Pangti V in Sanis constituency, Jaboka Village in Tizit constituency and Pathso East Wing in Thonoknyu constituency— as void.

The turnout in the 7-Jaboka village polling station was a very high 97.55% while the percentage in the other three polling stations remained below 70%. (See Table)

The repolling which began at 7 am and continued till 4 pm was held smoothly in all four polling stations and no untoward incident was reported, the CEO said.
