Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): The Retired Director of Higher Education Department and former Principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung Chubainla Jamir, passed away on October 25 at Bangalore after a brief illness.
“Her mortal remains will be brought to Chümoukedima and thereafter, a funeral service on October 27,” informed a press release from Principal, Fazl Ali College, S Arenla Longkumer.
The faculty, staff and students of the College in a condolence message, mourning the demise of the former Principal said “we are deeply saddened by her demise” and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
“Late Chubainla Jamir joined Fazl Ali College in 1977 as a teaching faculty in the Department of Political Science and later became Principal of the College in 2000. She left the College in 2008 on her promotion as Additional Director of Higher Education Department from where she retired as Director in 2012. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Dr Bendangyapang Longkumer and her son Ponen,” the release also stated.
Directorate officers, staff and fraternity of Higher Education, Nagaland, in a message from its Director Kuholi Chishi while mourning the demise of Retired Director of the department expressed, “During her tenure as Director, she was loved for her humility and amiable nature. Her invaluable contributions to the Department are deeply cherished. Today, the department fondly remembers her and expresses deepest sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.”
