Rethinking Tourism: Exploring Noklak

Noklak, October 3 (MExN): The department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland observed United Nations World Tourism Day at Noklak with the theme ‘Rethinking Tourism’ on September 27. 

It was organized in collaboration with Noklak district Administration, Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO) and Nagaland Adventure and Mountaineering Education (NAAME). 

To mark the occasion, the entourage organised a cave exploration to Pio-Ling-Kaa at Chipur Village (Thsoiphu). The NAAME team went for an expedition to Mount Khelia Kingniu which is considered to be the second highest peak in Nagaland at an altitude of 3426 m above sea level at Choklangan in Noklak district.

Further, the department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland along with the district administration launched the ‘State level Best Rural Tourism Village Competition.’ Earlier, Homestay training was also conducted with Alemjungla Jamir, Food Entrepreneur as resource person on September 26.
