RMSA teachers demand release of pending salary

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 1 (MExN): The Nagaland RMSA Teachers Association 2016 (NRMSATA-2016) batch has appealed to the Nagaland State Government to release their 4-month pending salary i.e. from April to July 2018.   A press release issued by NRMSATA-2016 said it was unbecoming that the government has made

it their habit of not paying the teachers’ salary unless demanded for by means of one or the other sort of agitation.   With the prices of commodities soaring, the RMSA teachers said it has become very difficult to survive with meager fixed salary that too without being credited for several months.

The NRMSATA appealed that their salaries be paid at least for the sake of the students if not for teachers’ sake while stating that it has become impossible to carry out duties on an empty stomach.

It cautioned that the teachers will have to stop going to work “not by will by compulsion through exhaustion from every single cell of our body, if our salary is not paid at the earliest.”
