Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): Peace Channel Dimapur organized a three-day capacity building training programme on August 26, 27 and 29, with focus on inner peace, self-management, heart of listening and skill development for a team of peace channel animators who are spread across various districts of Nagaland and involved in making Nagaland a peaceful State by 2030.
According to a press release from the Peace Channel Media Desk, the context of the roadmap empowerment and leadership of peace animators in Nagaland aims to enhance the capacities of the peace promoters to manage and engage in the on-going process of peace building in Nagaland.
Resource person Fr Dr CP Anto, Director of Peace Channel spoke on the topic ‘Strengthening inner strength in peace building’ in which, he emphasized on the importance of accepting oneself as the first step towards promoting peace. He also emphasised on ‘Self-Management’ as a goal setting and said that if one is able to control his or her behaviour, thoughts and manage stress, one can accomplish the other vows of life. The need of having a good inter/intra personal relationship as well as good networking is a must for every animator of reach to the next level of achieving the aims and objectives of the mission, he asserted.
Sr Theresa gave an insight on ‘Spirituality of Inner Peace’ and based her talk on the lives of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and Mother Teresa. She motivated the participants on how they can contribute in creating peaceful spaces within themselves, their peer groups and the society at large.
Vitono Haralu, Trainer and Consultant at Peace Channel moderated the three days capacity training on topics that included ‘Ethics and Values,’ ‘Heart of Listening,’ ‘Doors of your thoughts,’ and ‘Life Graph,’ with the purpose of checking and balancing one’s personal and professional space in life. She also emphasised that the heart of listening begins when we start sharing honestly and trust building begins when we become more self-aware about ourselves.
According to the press release, the movie ‘I can only imagine’ was showcased to relate life as well as witness the power of prayer, forgiveness, love and loyalty in human relationships and how this plays a vital role in building healthy and purposeful life of an individual.
The input session on the on-going projects of Peace Channel was shared by Projects Manager Garrol Lotha.
A total of 13 animators of Peace Channel attended the capacity training programme. Presentations on the principles of the organisation such as dialogue, spirituality, acceptance, equality, respect, empathy, non-violence were shared by the animators, the release stated.
In closure, gratitude notes were exchanged among the animators to strengthen relationships and acknowledge good experiences during the three-day programme.
