The Second District Football League-cum-Late Rokonicha Champions Trophy will be held from July 25 to August 15 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium. It will be held under the theme ‘One Chümoukedima.’
According to the Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA), it will be the second edition of the district’s premier football competition following the first in 2022. The CDFA said that the family of the late 6-time Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Rokonicha Kuotsu, has committed to sponsoring this year’s and supporting the next three editions of the tournament.
The tournament will feature eight teams. Only players registered with the CDFA will be eligible to participate. Every club will be required to field at least two under-20 players, and it will be mandatory for the participating clubs to appoint coaches possessing a minimum AIFF D-Licence qualification.
The CDFA informed that the registration window to sign up for the tournament has commenced and will open till July 18. Registrations forms are available through the association’s official email, at G-Sports Chümoukedima, and at Boots and Kids Store in Medziphema town.
Preference will be given to clubs that participated in the first edition, while qualifying matches may be organised if applications exceed the eight available slots.
