Runway Nagaland, founded in 2012 by Nengneithem Hengna began as a store to promote local artisans with a vision to promote ‘Made in Nagaland’ products and artisans. Eventually, it took to manufacturing their own brand that focuses on using locally available materials and utilising their skills.
“With small steps we have taken since October 15, we have walked as Runway Nagaland for the past 8th years now. To celebrate our beautiful journey we are launching our official website,” Aloi S Pongenlee, Administrative Manager, Runway Nagaland stated while inviting all to visit their newly launched website at www.runwaynagaland.com
Runway Nagaland is a team of women artisans preserving and promoting aged old indigenous art and technique of handmade. It is situated at Valley view Full Nagarjan, Dimapur.
“Our journey started on October 15, 2012 with a vision to promote ‘Made in Nagaland’ brand that focuses on using locally available materials and utilizing our skills to create more employment opportunities,” said Pongenlee.
She also stated that Runway Nagaland is dedicated to “traditional unique techniques of handmade accessories.” It also claims to “employ from different backgrounds and empower them to create opportunities. We also encourage and engage youths with a motive to pass on the knowledge to the younger generation and also to strengthen our economy by bringing in more business in the state.”
