Kohima, February 28 (MExN):  The Secheku Area Graduates’ Fellowship (SAGF) held a programme to felicitate Wezope Kenye, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland, who was inducted into the Indian Administrative Service.

The felicitation programme was held at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima on February 27.

During the programme, the IAS officer recounted the struggles he endured during his early education in a school located in rural interior village. He observed that the present generation has access to unlimited resources, better infrastructure and connectivity, unlike their predecessors and therefore, encouraged them to utilize the resources for positive impact.

Retired Additional Secretary Zachive Thele and Convenor of the SAGF advisory board Colo Mero also shared greetings and emphasised on always putting God first.

Mero further encouraged the youth to focus on developing life skills and being as professional as one can be, in order to survive in the modern competitive world. Regardless of our status, all must learn to be kind, generous, strive for integrity, use passion as a source of good and give back to the society and inspire, he added.

SAGF president Dr Zavise Rume on behalf of the Fellowship congratulated Wezope Kenye for being the first officer to be inducted into the IAS from Secheku area. Stating that it as fulfillment of a long-felt desire and dream of the Chakhesang people, Dr Rume thanked Kenye for the sacrifices, dedication, hard work and sincerity.

He further appealed all the participants to join the Fellowship to promote healthy interactions, share resources and promote career development among the members.

Earlier, Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh, senior pastor, CBCK blessed the newly inducted IAS officer and his family.

The programme was led by SAGF press and media secretary Khrolhiweu Tsuhah while welcome address was delivered by SAGF general secretary Dingupe Lasuh.
