Salvete 2021: Tetso College observes 27th Freshers’ Day

Dimapur, November 30 (MExN):  Tetso College celebrated ‘Salvete 2021: 27thFreshers’ Day’ on November 30 with  Rupin Sharma, DG Prisons, Homeguards, Civil Defence and SDRF, as the Special Guest.

In her address, Principal Dr Hewasa L Khing said that the event was one of the most awaited affairs of the year since the COVID-19 pandemic  2020 and welcomed all the freshers and invitees.

She also informed that more than 800 students from districts all over Nagaland and neighbouring states have joined Tetso College in 2021 year.

Encouraging the new entrants to be focus, prioritise their time and give their best in this new chapter of their life, Dr Hewasa stated,” “Time is a commodity and you will never have enough of it in this world.”

Special Guest Sharma in his address reminded the students to be more mindful of their surroundings. “By increasing your world view, you will get a broader view of things. This is when real change will come to Nagaland,” he added.

He encouraged them to develop a habit of questioning, adding that “discipline is not only about following orders blindly but also questioning the wrong.” 

He also cautioned the youngsters to abstain from intoxicants and encouraged them to always be in the company of good friends.
Responding to a query from a student on cracking competitive exams, Sharma advised: “Realise your capabilities and limitations first and then focus on the former which will ultimately lead you to success in life.”

A press release from the college informed that other highlights included speech on behalf of the freshers by VeriluZuo of Class 11 Arts and a special song titled ‘The Climb’ by Nokmachiba Lemtur of BA 5th Semester.

The informal session witnessed a host of events such as Mr & Miss Fresher 2021, dance, songs, and other special performances, it added.
